Harpist, Pianist, Singer, Teacher
Hello! I’m Lizzie, a professional harpist, harp, piano, and voice teacher, and accompanist currently based in Stourbridge in the West Midlands, but I’ve also lived and worked in Hong Kong and New Zealand. I perform all around the West Midlands, but am also happy to travel further afield.
I can provide live harp music for your wedding, special occasion or corporate event. You can have any kind of music you like – traditional classical, celtic folk tunes, current pop songs, or tunes from movies and TV. You can even have a custom arrangement of your favourite song.
I also teach harp, piano, and voice lessons. Whatever your age and ability, whether you want to pass exams or just play for fun, I’ll help you learn and improve at your own pace.
Most people see the harp as being angelic. It can be – but actually, I’ve always wanted to make it cool. After all, nobody expects to hear Coldplay on a harp, and I love seeing people’s faces when they realise what it can do.
Originally from Sussex, I have recently spent two years living and working in Hong Kong, and another year in New Zealand. I’m now back in the UK, based in the West Midlands.
I started playing the harp when I was 16 years old. I’d already been learning the piano for 10 years – but then I went to a concert, spotted the harp and couldn’t take my eyes off it. The harp looked stunning, it made a magical sound and I just knew immediately that I needed to learn how to play this wonderful instrument.
I ended up studying both the harp and the piano. I have a BMus (Hons) music degree from Royal Holloway University of London, an associate diploma in harp performance from the ABRSM and a licentiate diploma in piano performance from Trinity College London. I also have ABRSM qualifications in teaching the piano.
